The Personal Listings section contains over 18,000 directors and executives of Canadian companies. Listings are mainly compiled from information provided directly to the editors from the individuals themselves or from their companies.

Names are listed in alphabetical order. Surnames are printed first, followed by the person’s first name, initials, and nickname (if any), followed by abbreviations for any honours and fellowships held. The gender and birth date are shown next, followed by abbreviations for degrees held and the names of schools attended. Definitions of orders and degrees are explained at the back of the book.

Where a listing includes the names of more than one company, as far as possible, the person’s principal occupation is shown first, with the start date of this position shown in brackets. Business e-mail addresses follow. Also listed are directorships and executive positions held on other companies. The final item shows previous positions held.

Over 2,000 new names have been added to the book this year. These names have an asterisk beside their names to easily identify them.

The Company Listings section gives an alphabetical listing of more than 1,700 top Canadian companies, with their boards of directors and executive officers. It also shows each company’s head office address, plus main phone and fax numbers, toll-free number, and web and e-mail addresses.

You will find the officers of the operating subsidiaries/management companies of income funds listed under the fund’s name.

Companies shown with an asterisk before their names have been newly added to the book this year. A double dagger symbol before the company name indicates it is one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.

Industrial Classification Index lists key Canadian companies, sorted by industry type.

Geographic Location Index lists the names of all the companies carried in the Company Listings section. They are grouped according to the city and province/state of the head office.
